I hate bloatware drivers and really just prefer a nice clean basic driver install. I'm not a 1st person shooter fan.Īnyhow, I want something that will be fantastic with music, and respectible in games. I am by no means a "gamer" but I do have several games I like to play on occation (Madden Football, Age of Empires, Command & Conquer). I have a solid pair of 2.1 speakers I don't plan on upgrading but would really like to get the absolute most out of. I primarily use my computer for music playback, mostly MP3's. Perhaps ripping my M-Audio Revolution 7.1 back out of the closet and reinstalling that card (used to get lots of hisses and pops with that card as well as lack of driver updates was frustrating).
Does anybody out there know anything about this card? Know what kind of DAC's it has on board? Processing chip it uses? I've been considering buying a new sound card (currently an unhappy owner of an Audigy 2 ZS Value) and have been kicking around the following options.
